An active duty soldier @areyousurprised has been slowly contemplating coming out through a series of faceless Youtube videos. His videos of army life went viral, which has brought attention to his coming out videos.
Tonight, with the end of DADT, @areyousurprised came out to his father in Alabama via phone from his base in Berlin. For the first time he shows his face in the video. Everyone should watch this. Its a wonderful testament to the power of coming out and to the strength of those that have been serving in silence under DADT.
What a wonderful way to start the day!

Colombian Court Rules in Favour of Marriage Equality→
Colombia’s Constitutional Court has ruled that the country must extend marriage rights to same-sex couple within 2 years.
“The Colombian Congress must create an equivalent of marriage for gay couples by June 20, 2013, or else couples will automatically gain the right to go to any judge or notary public to formalize their union, according to the ruling. The country already offers civil unions, which grant almost all marriage rights.”
